To Guarantee Solar Availability, Pertamina Increases Quota Up to 12% in the South Sumatera Region

Palembang, March 31, 2022 – As a business entity mandated to distribute the fuel needs of the community, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagsel, Sub Holding Commercial & Trading PT Pertamina (Persero) guarantees that fuel stocks and distribution operate smoothly. One of which is the distribution of Solar subsidies.

Tjahyo Nikho Indrawan, Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagsel, said that the current national economic growth, which is realized above 5%, will affect the increase in energy needs, one of which is solar subsidies. Therefore, Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures stock and secures optimal maintenance of the distribution process in the field.

"National subsidized diesel stock is at the level of 20 days. The stock and distribution process to petrol stations is monitored daily. However, it is noted as of February, the subsidized Solar distribution has exceeded around 10% of the national quota. For the South Sumatera area, the quota increased to 12%," Nikho explained.

Nikho continued that Pertamina Patra Niaga will monitor the entire distribution process from the Fuel Terminal to consumers to ensure fuel availability in gas stations. Especially for subsidized solar, we will focus on logistics routes services and routes where subsidized Solar is needed.

"People do not need to worry, and they should not panic buying. We urge you to buy fuel according to your needs and efficiently considering the oil price is very expensive. Based on our records, the average consumption in the South Sumatera area increased to 1.6 million liters per day, an increase of 8% compared to the previous year,” he continued.

Referring to Presidential Regulation No. 191 of 2014, users entitled to subsidized Solar for the transportation sector are black plate motor vehicles for transporting people or goods, yellow plate motorized vehicles except for mining and plantation transport with more than six wheels.

Public service vehicles (ambulances, fire engines, garbage collectors), Indonesian-flagged public transport ships, pioneer ships, and general passenger and freight trains.

To ensure the public understands the appropriate users for subsidized Solar, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagsel with all stakeholders, law enforcement officials, and the Regional Government, as well as the Central Government through BPH Migas, improves education and socialization regarding the subsidized Solar distribution regulations that have been made.

"Solar subsidies are for the appropriate user so that the users will be right on target and people will be wiser in using fuel according to the specifications of their vehicle engines. We urge industry players and people who can afford it to use non-subsidized diesel fuel such as Dexlite and Pertamina Dex, so people in need can use subsidized diesel," Nikho explained.

Pertamina Patra Niaga will cooperate with the community, government, and all related parties in supervising Solar subsidies, so they are right on target.

If there are indications of subsidized Solar misuse, the public can report directly to the authorities. If the petrol station is at fault, Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagsel will not hesitate to take action. We fully support those who assist in providing reports on violations in the distribution of Subsidized Solar.
