Supporting Business Processes, Young PIS Workers Promote Ecoship Design as an Innovation Contribution

Jakarta, June 17, 2022 - The talented young workers of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) continue to innovate to support the company's business processes. One of them is by presenting an environmentally friendly ship design (ecoship) which also participates in the annual Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) innovation event by PT Pertamina (Persero).

This eco-friendly ship design was presented by the Eco Ship Volume 4 team led by Sholihah Widyastuti, with members Anisa Rachmita, Jimmy Bunga Mayang, and Syarif Hidayat. The Eco Ship team volume 4 was also facilitated by Indra Lianggoro W.N.

The technological innovation presented by the Eco Ship Volume 4 team received appreciation from PT Pertamina (Persero) by winning the 'Gold' category at the Annual Pertamina Quality Award (APQ) 2022, a series of CIP programs.

Director of Human Resources and Business Support of PIS, Surya Tri Harto, said that the company continues to encourage and support PIS workers in expressing their creative ideas to bring the company forward. “Especially the young workers, to continue to pour creative, innovative, even out-of-the-box ideas as a contribution to the company. Indeed, this can be done through excellent performance and also through ideas and ideas as worked out in the CIP minutes," he said.

Appreciation for the work of young PIS workers at CIP is also expected to be a spirit to improve and produce more innovative ideas in the company.

"The appreciation of the innovations initiated by these young workers is expected to spark enthusiasm and be an inspiration for other workers. Therefore, they always produce breakthroughs to increase the company's value and excellence," added Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Roberth MV Dumatubun.

Ecoship Design technology is motivated by the spirit and commitment of the company's Green Shipping, which focuses on ship building and management aspects. The use of ecoship technology is proven to be able to reduce fuel consumption which has an impact on reducing emissions.

To date, there have been 13 ships with an ecoship design concept, including 2 VLCC vessels belonging to PIS, namely Pertamina Pride and Pertamina Prime.**
