Successful Underwater Survey Inspection, PIS Gamsunoro Ship is Selling Well Serving Global Oil Company

Jakarta, May 24, 2022 - MT Gamsunoro ship, owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), has made a successful achievement by carrying out an underwater ship survey using the Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Dry-Docking (UWILD) method.

The survey activity on the MT Gamsunoro ship took place at the Khorfakkan Port Anchorage Area, United Arab Emirates. The success in implementing UWILD is because of the synergy and good cooperation between agencies such as the Director-General of Sea Transportation, the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI), Class Lloyd's Register (LR), and the Directorate of Fleet Management.

In addition to the Intermediate Survey (UWILD) implementation, other works such as Major Over Haul Main Engine, Annually Service for LSA and FFA Equipment, SMC Audits, and Crew changes are carried out to Continues Maintenance to guarantee reliability in ship operations.

"The successful UWILD implementation adds new experiences and provides Added Value for PIS.  Because apart from being able to reduce ship operating costs to be more competitive, this is the first experience for PT PIS in carrying out this work abroad, especially in the Arabian Gulf region," said Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Roberth MV Dumatubun.

UWILD successful survey and the MT Gamsunoro ship maintenance have also made this ship with a DWT of 105.638 tons more attractive to global players. The ship built in 2014 and manned by the captain and crew from Indonesia, was immediately chartered by a new charter, namely GESCO (The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited) Mumbai for six months plus six months starting from May 17, 2022.

Previously, the MT Gamsunoro had just completed its contract with the giant oil company Saudi Aramco. MT Gamsunoro is one of the vessels commercialized to penetrate international markets, which previously had been chartered by Trafigura for trading areas in the Arabian Gulf to Japan.**
