SOE's Effort to Realize Indonesia's 2022 NZE Target Will be Reviewed at SOE International Conference & Expo

Jakarta, October 12, 2022 - The Ministry of SOEs continues to pursue Indonesia's target of Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060 through the state companies' work, particularly SOEs in the energy sector, including those run by Pertamina.

In carrying out its role in managing national energy, Pertamina Group has set NZE's commitment to realize its aspirations as an environmentally friendly Global Energy Company, support the energy transition and contribute to climate change targets.

Pertamina's NZE commitment follows the Sustainability Policy through 10 focuses, namely; tackling climate change; reducing environmental footprint; protecting biodiversity; health and safety; large-scale incidents prevention; recruitment, employees development and retention; innovation and research; community engagement and impact; digital security; and Corporate Ethics.

"The Net Zero Emission target is a joint responsibility of the Government and all components of the nation. SOEs' role is very strategic because efforts to reduce emissions will save the earth and will certainly maintain human life in the future," said Pahala N. Mansury, Deputy Minister of SOEs I in Jakarta (11/10).

Pahala said that to consolidate SOE resources, the Ministry of SOEs will involve several SOE clusters in the SOE International Conference & Expo in Nusa Dua Bali, 17-18 October 2022.

"SOE will convey the program's progress that has been launched, and the Ministry of SOE will facilitate meetings with potential investors," added Pahala.

Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Heppy Wulansari, said that Pertamina will attend the SOE International Conference & Expo as a commitment to the NZE Indonesia 2060 target.

According to her, to achieve this target, Pertamina has implemented two main programs, namely business decarbonization and green business acceleration.

Pertamina, continued Heppy, has also developed a Green Strategy orientation, increased organizational capacity and human resources, optimized Green Financing, accelerated green technology and digital innovation, developed carbon market business, and others.

"Every effort is made to pursue the Net Zero Emission target so that SOE's gait is more optimal," conveyed Heppy.**
