Realizing Sustainability Commitment, Pertamina Group Wins 2022 ASRRAT Platinum and Gold Ratings

December 5, 2022 - Pertamina Group won Platinum and Gold in the 2022 Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT), a sustainability report ranking event organized by the National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR) with the Circular Economy theme entitled "Pathway to Circular Economy".

ASRRAT, previously known as the Sustainability Reporting Awards (SRA), is an award for institutions that have successfully communicated their sustainability performance to stakeholders through a Sustainability Report. This event was attended by 50 companies/agencies from various countries. Namely, Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Australia, Russia, and has been held for 18 years, from 2005.

This year, Pertamina Group won 4 Gold ratings for Sustainability Report published by PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Badak NGL, PT Pertamina Drilling Services, and PT Pertamina Services Indonesia. Meanwhile, Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) won a Platinum rating, the highest award category, at the 2022 ASSRAT awarding event. VP of Investor Relations of PT Pertamina (Persero), Juferson Victor Mangempis, also received the award from NCCR representing Pertamina (Persero).

To win the Platinum category, companies need to prepare a Sustainability Report that fulfills several requirements, such as Type 2 Assurance Engagement based on AA1000AS(2018) and/or ISAE3000, SDGs Compass, GRI Standards-Comprehensive Option, complies with SEOJK 16/2021, and others. As for the Gold rating, the criteria for a sustainability report must fulfill the GRI Standards – Core Options.

Chairman of the ASRRAT 2022 Jury Board, Prof. Eko Ganis Sukoharsono, Ph.D., CSRA, said that the Covid-19 emergence brought great lessons, especially for Sustainability Practitioners, including in implementing the 2021 GRI Standards as a new reporting standard.

"The 2022 ASRRAT assessment is based on the compliance level with sustainability reporting according to the GRI Standards. Besides, it also involves assessments from independent experts from 15 universities in Indonesia and one assessor from the University of Essex, UK," he said.

Acting VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Heppy Wulansari, said to actualize Pertamina's ambition to become a world-class energy company, the company continues to carry out sustainable business principles by implementing integrated ESG aspects where the company's steps, programs, and achievements are conveyed in a transparent and accountable manner through Sustainability Report.

Apart from being proof of the Pertamina Group's sustainability program, this ASRRAT award will be an affirmation to strengthen the company's commitment in prioritizing SDG principles in each of its business lines and comprehensively summarizing its performance through the company's sustainability reporting system.**
