PIS with SKK Migas Held National Coordination to Support Crude Oil Lifting Target Reaching 100%!

Jakarta, August 12, 2022 – PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) held a coordination meeting for the 2022-2023 crude oil lifting. This coordination was attended by stakeholders who play an important role in Indonesia's oil lifting, such as Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), PT Refinery Pertamina Internasional (KPI), and representatives from Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS). Including Exxon Mobil Cepu, Petrochina, Medco Group, BP Tangguh, Connocophilips, Petronas, Husky CNOOC, and its Upstream Subsidiary PT Pertamina (Persero).

The coordination meeting initiated by PT PIS aims to maintain the national oil lifting by the state budget target to reach 703 thousand barrels per day. “We want communication and coordination with stakeholders in the oil lifting implementation. Because this is a task for all relevant agencies, such as KKKS, SKK Migas, and Pertamina, to maintain oil lifting as well as possible, optimally, efficiently and achieve the 100 percent target," Operations Director of PIS, Arief Kurnia Risdianto, said on Friday, August 12, 2022.

Arief explained that PIS had transported all national oil lifting to be processed at Pertamina's refineries.

All oil lifting transported by PIS is ensured to be distributed safely and reliably because PIS vessels have met international standards and are trusted by global oil companies.

On the other hand, PIS vessels could serve international markets and global routes by sailing the Indonesian flag and being operated by crews from Indonesia.

"So, if there is an export of the KKKS part, surely, we can use various ship sizes managed by PIS to the largest, namely the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC). We have different sizes of ships to serve the transportation. By using Indonesian PIS ships, it will provide many growth and development domestic economy (multiplier effects) benefits as well as increase the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in the national shipping industry, starting from Indonesian crew member's welfare, supporting industries such as domestic shipyards, national shipping companies, to all industries in the vicinity,” Arief added.

Senior Manager of Shipping and Transportation of SKK Migas Hendratmi Susilowati appreciates the coordination initiated by PIS to encourage achieving the 100 percent oil lifting target. “SKK Migas main targets is 0il production and lifting which become the main concern, even one barrel must be attempted to be lifted regardless of the challenges. So far, there have been no lifting problems carried out by PIS. Surely we also appreciate today's meeting which is a tangible manifestation of one team, one goal, one million."

VP of Supply and Logistics of PT Refinery Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Arif Yunianto explained that despite the COVID-19 pandemic for the last two years, both PIS and KPI strive optimally to secure the national oil lifting target. "We are fully supported by the PIS fleet so that the lifting target is achieved and never lacking. This coordination moment is also important, to know the stakeholder's aspiration as well as the challenges ahead in national oil lifting," he said.

At this event, a commitment signing to optimizing the national oil lifting between PIS, KPI, and SKK Migas happened. The agreed commitments include; support and succeeding to achieve the national oil lifting target in 2022, increasing joint supervision for controlling losses in the transportation and cargo handling processes at all KKKS and KPI terminals, and optimizing the use of Indonesian vessels for KKKS export oil lifting.**
