Petrol Stations Digitalization Continues, Pertamina Develops New System

Jakarta, January 19, 2021 – After the digitalization project at 5,518 gas stations was completed at the end of 2020, PT Pertamina (Persero) continues the digitalization program by developing new systems, such as Autoplenishment and Prepurchase at all petrol stations.

This new system is reflected in the Command Operation Center for Digitalization at Telkom Legok, Tangerang, Banten.

To ensure the reliability of the system, the Director of Business Support of PT Pertamina (Persero), M. Haryo Yunianto, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sub Holding Commercial & Trading of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mas'ud Khamid, and VVIP Telkom conducted a site visit on Thursday (14/1).

In his explanation, the Director of Business Support of PT Pertamina (Persero) stated that Digital Transformation is carried out in all core business processes at Pertamina, from the upstream, midstream, downstream, and the corporate sides.

On the upstream side, Upstream Production Optimization already Go Live on December 10 last year. The midstream or refinery side has carried out predictive maintenance at the Balongan Refinery Unit VI to maintain refinery and stock reliability. There is integration on the corporate side, a join operational dashboard from upstream to downstream, Digital Procurement, and Office Automation using the P-Office system.

"Even though we are faced with a pandemic, we continue to echo the spirit of Pertamina's sustainable transformation as part of our commitment to realizing its vision as a global energy company and realizing national energy independence. This condition also encourages us, the accelerator, to accelerate the digital transformation process. Apart from the upstream, midstream, and corporate side, it is no less important on the downstream side, namely the digitalization of 5,518 petrol stations that we have completed," said Haryo.

Petrol Stations' digitalization, Haryo added, will positively impact Pertamina because it will provide accurate and real-time data and information. Pertamina will use this data and information as a tool for making strategic decisions in ensuring the reliability of supply and services to the public.

In addition to supply reliability, the digitalization of petrol stations has also carried out monitoring of subsidized fuel sales, especially for JBT Solar, by recording vehicle police numbers using the Pre-Purchase system, which has reached 82% of total transactions per day. The use of video analytic technology (camera use) is being studied in various aspects.

"We are not stopping here. Furthermore, Pertamina has prepared further system development using data and information obtained from digitalizing gas stations, namely the Autoreplenishment System and the Subsidized Fuel Purchase Prepurchase System," he explained.

Furthermore, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sub Holding Commercial & Trading of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mas'ud Khamid, explained the main benefits of the completion of digitalization of petrol stations. Mas'ud said that Pertamina could monitor sales or sales in real-time through digitalization in terms of supply reliability. Pertamina can also monitor available stock at gas stations, monitor fuel receipts during loading and unloading from tank trucks (MT), and develop auto-scheduling in fuel delivery to the petrol station.

"We can monitor all of this real-time data and information through a monitoring dashboard that has been developed. Thus, the digitalization of these petrol stations can help us ensure the distribution of fuel is right on target and ensure that stock conditions at petrol stations are always sufficient to serve the needs of the community," explained Mas'ud.

According to Mas'ud Khamid, digitalizing petrol stations also benefits the public in the transaction process at petrol stations. Digitalization strengthens the petrol station network in offering non-cash payment methods through the MyPertamina application. Through the MyPertamina application, the community is provided with various loyalty programs such as promos and special offers for purchasing Pertamina retail products.

"There are many benefits that can be enjoyed through MyPertamina, of course, apart from the certainty of transactions that are easier, safer, more comfortable, and transparent, the public can enjoy various special programs that can only be followed through the MyPertamina application. It is Pertamina's effort to push the public into the digital era and ensure Pertamina's customers experience a satisfying customer experience," he added.

In this review, Mas'ud also said that the digitization of petrol stations was a manifestation of SOEs' commitment to real synergy to benefit the community and the state. "Together, Pertamina and Telkom as strategic partners in implementing the digitalization of petrol stations have completed a mandate to achieve the goal of national energy independence and security," Mas'ud concluded. *
