Pertamina's Contribution to Overcome the Covid-19 Pandemic Earns Awards

Jakarta, November 19, 2022 - The Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world since the end of 2019 has not been over. Since the SARS-Cov-2 virus has become an epidemic in Indonesia, Pertamina has been working to support the government in overcoming the virus spread and impact, both from the socio-economic and health sectors. Through various activities during the Pandemic, Pertamina has contributed more than IDR 1.5 trillion.

Contribution in handling this vicious and deadly virus now bears awards. Pertamina received an award for various Covid-19 countermeasures activities in the Humanitarian Award Night organized with Ocean20 (O20) at the G20 Presidency momentum, organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment with the Ministry of SOE through the SOE Foundation in Nusa Dua Bali, Thursday, November 17, 2022.

The event, entitled "Humanitarian Awarding Night", is an appreciation from the Indonesian government to various parties who assist in handling the Covid-19 Pandemic's humanitarian problems, including involving various parties, the private sector, companies, and SOEs.

Director of Human Resources of PT Pertamina (Persero), Erry Sugiharto, expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given to Pertamina in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. The contribution that involves all of the company's business lines is part of Pertamina's commitment as a company that carries out social and environmental responsibility.

"This award is not a goal but a motivation for Pertamina to remain consistent in carrying out social responsibility and support the government in solving various problems faced by the Indonesian people," said Erry.

According to him, as an Energy SOE, apart from struggling to overcome the triple shock, Pertamina is also actively involved in handling the Covid-19 pandemic in the health and social sectors.

In the health sector, through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Bina Medika, Pertamina has built a modular hospital at the Simprug Football Field and provided seven hospitals to assist the government in tackling the virus spread. Pertamina Group also assists the community ranging from Personal Protection Equipment, Masks, Gloves, Face Shields, Disinfectant Chambers, Ventilators, Thermo Guns, Rapid Tests, and Portable Sinks to food and basic food packages.

"Pertamina's various efforts and contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic are clear evidence that we are always here to provide benefits and encouragement to the community under any circumstances. With the 'recover together, recover stronger' spirit, we all hope and pray that the pandemic storm will end soon.
