Pertamina Peduli volunteers invite children affected by the earthquake to play during a Trauma Healing session at the Pertamina Main Post, Panembong Kaler Hamlet, Mekarsari Village, Cianjur, West Java on Thursday (1/12/2022).

Pertamina Peduli Volunteers Holds Trauma Healing for Refugees at the Main Command Post in Mekarsari Village

Cianjur, December 2, 2022 - Several Pertamina volunteers held social assistance (trauma healing) for earthquake victims refugees, especially children in Pertamina Peduli's main command post located at RT02/RW02 Panembong Kaler Hamlet, Mekarsari Village, Cianjur, Java West, Thursday, December 1, 2022.

This activity was carried out around 16.00 to 17.30 WIB. Not only playing, the children aged around three to 11 years old prayed together in the area around the evacuation post.

Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication, Heppy Wulansari, explained that this activity aims to relieve the trauma and sadness for refugees, especially children. "We conducted a playing session with the children so that they could be happier and more relaxed in facing the earthquake's aftermath. We also do this to reduce traumatic feelings due to the earthquake that occurred last Monday (November 21, 2022)," said Heppy.

Heppy added that activities like this were routinely carried out at the Pertamina Peduli post. She also hopes that this trauma-healing activity can help refugees, especially children, from a psychological perspective. “They should have enough time and playing time. Therefore, that their growth and development are not disturbed. We hope that (the trauma healing) can reduce it (trauma) and there will be no bad impact on the children's psychology," she conveyed.

Lina Marlina (40) expressed her gratitude to Pertamina for holding a trauma-healing activity. According to her, this helps children not be traumatized anymore after the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that shook Cianjur.

"Thank God the children are happy and no longer traumatized, so they are excited again. Previously, they were traumatized and often afraid. Thank you to Pertamina," said Lina.

On the same occasion, Fatma (11), a child living at the Pertamina Peduli evacuation post, admitted that this activity was very helpful. She said that she is no longer traumatized by the earthquake. "I'm happy (not traumatized). Thank you, Pertamina," she added.

The same thing was also expressed by Siti Alya Kumala Sari. This grade six elementary school student confessed that she was happy with this activity.**
