Pertamina Patra Niaga Ready to Distribute Subsidized Fuels According to Government Quotas

Jakarta, March 15, 2024 – The quota for subsidized fuels and LPG in 2024 has been determined. Based on the Decree of the Head of BPH Migas No. 89/P3JBT/BPH MIGAS/KOM/2023 for the distribution of Subsidized Fuels for Specific Types of Oil Fuels (JBT) Kerosene with a quota of 0.5 Million Kiloliters (KL), JBT Solar Oil with a quota of 17.8 Million KL, and 3 Kg LPG Cylinders amounting to 8.03 Million Metric Tons (MT) based on the Ministerial Decree of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 446.K/MG.05/DJM/2023.

Pertamina is ready to carry out the government's assignment. Through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga as the Subholding Commercial & Trading, Pertamina will ensure that the subsidized energy distribution in 2024 can reach economically disadvantaged communities throughout Indonesia at affordable prices.

The President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, stated that Pertamina Patra Niaga is ready to distribute subsidized fuels and LPG according to the quotas set by the government. Moreover, they are innovating to ensure that subsidized fuels and LPG reach the intended targets.

"In ensuring the distribution of energy subsidies, especially for fuels and LPG, Pertamina Patra Niaga has implemented several innovations, primarily through digitalization programs. One ongoing and continuously evaluated program is the Targeted Subsidy Program for JBT Solar, and starting this year, the Targeted LPG 3 Kg Subsidy will be executed," explained Riva.

The Targeted Subsidy for JBT Solar has been tested since 2022 and has been implemented nationally in 514 cities and districts with QR Codes in July 2023.

Throughout 2023, nearly 14 million KL of Solar transactions have been recorded digitally. 92% of these are distributed to vehicles, and the remaining 8% to fisheries, agricultural businesses, MSMEs, and public services such as health facilities and the National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB).

For 3 Kg LPG, since January, it has been mandatory for people to show their ID cards, which will then be checked through Pertamina Merchant Apps (MAP) at depots before they can purchase subsidized LPG. Over 248 thousand depots in 411 cities and districts have been converted and are ready to serve the Targeted LPG 3 Kg Subsidy.

Since its launch on January 1, more than 31 million IDs have conducted transactions totaling more than 495 million 3 Kg LPG cylinders. 85% of these transactions are for household consumers, and the remaining 15% are for MSMEs, farmers, and targeted fishers.

"This is how Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures that the subsidized fuels and LPG distribution becomes more transparent. The established subsidies and quotas through the Targeted Subsidy Program show Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to providing distribution data as transparently as possible. It serves as evidence of the validity of data and our responsibility towards the assigned task," Riva continued.

In addition to the Targeted Subsidy, Riva stated that Pertamina Patra Niaga now has access to the Pertamina Integrated Enterprise Data & Command Center (PIEDCC). Supported by digitalization at fuel and LPG terminals as well as petrol stations, Riva said that the distribution process and stock at petrol stations and LPG depots can now be monitored in real-time.

"Therefore, besides ensuring data transparency, Pertamina Patra Niaga guarantees product availability, including subsidized fuels and LPG. This is our commitment to serving, providing, and fulfilling the energy needs of every community activity, including in remote areas," concluded Riva.

In line with Riva's sentiments, the VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, expressed that the innovations undertaken by Pertamina Patra Niaga aim to ensure that the government's task of distributinf energy subsidies to appropriate groups within society is fulfilled.

"Pertamina will continuously monitor and evaluate the energy subsidies distribution process. Innovations will continue to be made. All of this is aimed at ensuring that energy subsidies reach the intended targets, which can then help boost the purchasing power of the people and the productivity of small businesses," clarified Fadjar.
