Pertamina International Shipping Go Global, Vessel Performance Highlight Achievements Throughout 2021

Jakarta, December 2, 2021 - Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) continues to make acceleration efforts to expand its global business portfolio. This is a form of support from PIS to aim Pertamina's group target, namely to be among the top 100 global Fortune 500 companies with a valuation of US$ 100 billion in 2024. This support is proven by PIS’s ability to achieve several impressive achievements throughout 2021 as the embodiment and spirit of PIS Go Global.

President Director of PIS, Erry Widiastono, said, "The transformation of PIS into Subholding Integrated Marine Logistics has succeeded in making several achievements this year as a form of embodiment of PIS Go Global," he said. Currently, PIS has expanded its trading area from 8 to 11 worldwide routes, namely Africa, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, US, India, Algeria, and Bangladesh which contribute to the company's revenue through charter out activities with a 20 million USD valuation until August 2021. Furthermore, several PIS vessels including MT Gamsunoro, MT Sanggau, MT Gede, MT Galunggung, MT Gamkonora, MT Gunung Geulis, MT Gamalama, MT Panderman have served international routes that were formerly used for domestic. Especially MT Gamsunoro, which currently serves international routes along the Arabian Gulf and Japan range.

VLGC Pertamina 1 and 2 Vessels owned by PIS also made history by being the first PIS cargo ship managed by PIS that obtained a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and carried out the Initial Loading of LPG at Phillips 66 Freeport, Texas – Houston, United States of America (USA). Foreign-flagged vessels shipping in US territorial waters must obtain a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the USCG. This is one of the indicators that PIS has been trusted in the international maritime industry because the high standard inspection is carried out to guarantee the implementation of safe shipping in all maritime transportation zones under US jurisdiction. Furthermore, VLCCs Pertamina Pride and Pertamina Prime are now regularly anchored at Rastanura, Saudi Arabia, and West Africa, as does the VLCC PIS Pioneer in Malaysia and Singapore.

"These achievements highlight our commitment to continue to compete globally, this is also inseparable from the ships and crews’ impressive performance throughout this year," Erry added. Several other achievements were successfully made by PIS vessels such as the PIS Paragon & PIS Polaris have also successfully partnered with Multinational Companies to serve USA & Africa routes and have achieved the Qualship 21 awards, in addition to gaining a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Then, through MT Gede which succeeded in first loading at Sikka Ports & Terminal Limited India; and PIS cooperation via the MT Sanggau with Petronas, Petco Trading Labuan Company Limited (PTLCL) for a time-based vessel charter contract. PIS also achieved 3rd Party Customer YTD revenue of 17.21 million USD in October 2021, excluding Pertamina’s result of International Trading.

Erry hopes that the achievements made throughout 2021 can be a motivation for us, especially Subholding Integrated Marine Logistics, to continue providing the best for PIS Go Global and supporting Pertamina's vision as a group in the future; so PIS can continue spreading its wings in the global arena.**
