Pertamina Guarantees Pertalite Quality Follows Government Regulations

September 21, 2022 - PT Pertamina (Persero) confirmed that Pertalite (RON 90) fuel quality has not changed. Pertalite, marketed through official distributors in Indonesia, follows the Director General of Oil and Gas Decree Number 0486.K/10/DJM.S/2017 concerning Standards and Quality (Specifications) of 90 Types of Gasoline Fuel Oil Marketed Domestically.

“The limitations in the Director General of Oil and Gas specifications indicate that the evaporation rate at room temperature includes the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) parameter. Currently, the results of the RVP test from Pertalite distributed from Pertamina's Fuel Oil Terminal (TBBM) are still within the permitted limits, which are in the range of 45-69 kPa (Kilopascal)," said the Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, in a written statement, Wednesday (21/9/2022).

Pertamina guarantees that all fuel products distributed through official distribution agencies such as petrol stations and Pertashop follow specifications and strict quality control. Meanwhile, fuel products that do not fulfill the specified specifications will not be distributed to the public.

“Pertamina is committed to distributing quality fuel products that follow specifications. Through quality control, products that do not fulfill specifications will not be distributed to distribution agencies," said Irto.

Pertamina urges consumers to purchase fuel at official distribution agencies such as petrol stations and Pertashop. Thus, the quality and safety of the fuel products obtained are guaranteed.

The public is also advised to fill up with fuel according to the provisions stated in the motor vehicle manual. Because the manufacturer has adjusted the fuel according to the vehicle type. It is also not recommended to replace the contents of different types of fuel with different octane (RON) levels.

“Drivers should always be consistent in choosing quality fuel so that the vehicle's engine is always durable and well-maintained. It is safer to use quality fuel with the recommended octane/cetane by the manufacturer so that the engine can work optimally,” conveyed Irto.**
