Singapore, January 31, 2024 - As a Subholding of Pertamina in the Integrated Marine & Logistics sector, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) is accelerating its efforts to become a leading maritime and logistics company worldwide. This initiative begins with the inauguration of PIS Asia Pacific (PIS AP) office in Singapore.

PIS Asia Pacific (PIS AP) is a subsidiary of PIS, established in 2018, and has been the primary revenue driver in the non-captive market sector, experiencing continuous growth every year. The expansion of this office signifies PIS's readiness to become a significant player in the maritime and logistics business on the global stage.

The PIS AP office has officially moved to the 32nd floor of the Millenia Tower to accommodate the increasing workforce demand due to the growing global market demand for PIS's business.

The inauguration of the new PIS AP office was attended by the Minister of Transportation of Singapore, Chee Hong Tat; Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryopratomo; President Commissioner of PIS, Mochtar Husein; CEO of PIS, Yoki Firnandi; and Director of Crude Oil and Petroleum Tanker of PIS, Brilian Perdana.

The opening ceremony of the PIS AP office was also attended by dozens of world-class partnership collaborators, such as Petco Trading Labuan Company Ltd, PTT Thailand, Vitol, and others.

In addition to the inauguration, there were also a series of cooperation agreement signings with several global partners, including a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) between PTT International Trading Pte Ltd and PIS Asia Pacific, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PIS and PTT Energy Trading Co., Ltd, and a cooperation agreement signing between PIS and PIS Asia Pacific.

"As a global hub and international maritime center, Singapore warmly welcomes companies, talents, and ideas from around the world, including our friends in ASEAN. Collaborations like these are essential win-win collaborations for growth and prosperity in the regional area," said Singapore's Minister of Transportation, Chee Hong Tat, on Friday (26/01).

He also acknowledged PIS’ performance, which has been in Singapore since 2018 and has achieved significant milestones. "We are ready to collaborate further in the businesses we have been pursuing, including exploring other potential businesses."

Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryopratomo, also expressed appreciation for PIS Asia Pacific’s achievements, which he believes have brought honor not only to Indonesian companies in Singapore but also at the international level.

"From the embassy, we are ready to support PIS Asia Pacific, especially given the close relationship between Indonesia and Singapore. We believe we can contribute to the company’s growth, which will undoubtedly impact both countries’ economies," he stated.

Managing Director of PIS AP, Muhammad Resa, stated that as the driving force and gateway for global expansion in the Asia Pacific region, PIS AP currently has 30 employees, most of whom are Indonesian citizens. "However, we also have a global workforce, which we can increase in the future according to the needs of expanding the company's market."

CEO of PIS, Yoki Firnandi, added that PIS is sending its best talents for placements in branch offices overseas. Currently, PIS, through its subsidiary PIS Asia Pacific, has two branch offices in Singapore since 2018 and Dubai, which opened in 2022.

"We are deploying our best talents to sharpen their skills by competing and interacting directly with global players. We also open doors to global talents with the expertise and skills required in this industry."

Furthermore, he continued that experienced global talents are believed to have a broader professional network, which can help strengthen the company in international markets.

"This also follows the company's vision to Go Global. Therefore, to enhance competitiveness, we need to combine expertise and experience from various talents to face the challenges of the global market."

Vice President of Corporate Communications of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina fully supports PIS’ steps to expand its overseas market, which will support PIS’ performance.

"The new PIS office further reinforces Pertamina's vision of becoming a world-class national energy company trusted by global players," he concluded.
