Pertamina Found New Oil and Gas Resources

Bojonegoro, October 25, 2022 – Pertamina's Upstream Subholding Eastern Indonesia Region managed to find gas and condensate contingent resources in the Bojonegoro, East Java, as a result of the exploration well Kolibri (KOL)-001 drilling.

The KOL-001 well drilling began on July 3, 2022, and succeeded in finding hydrocarbons of gas and condensate in the layer bladder test (DST #1). Currently, the Eastern Indonesia Region is monitoring gas and condensate flow from the exploration well.

This resource finding completes Pertamina's Upstream Subholding successes throughout 2022 after previously discovering new oil and gas resources from the exploration drilling of the Sungai Gelam Timur-1 (SGET-1) well in Jambi, Manpatu-1X in Mahakam, Wilela-001 in Onshore South Sumatra, Bajakah-001 in Onshore West Java, R-2 in North Sumatra Offshore (NSO) Block, Sungai Rotan-1X in Jambi, Markisa-001 in Papua, and GQX-1 off North Java Island.

Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Exploration Director, Muharram Jaya Panguriseng, expressed his gratitude for the Kolibri exploration findings. "We are grateful for the support from all stakeholders and parties involved. Pertamina will continue to explore and find new resources to maintain the national upstream oil and gas sustainability," explained Muharram.

In the exploration strategy, Pertamina's Upstream Subholding has three strategies. Namely, massive and aggressive exploration in existing work areas, seeking exploration potential in new areas, and partnership strategies.

On a separate occasion, the Director of Regional-4 East Indonesia-Subholding Upstream Pertamina, Endro Hartanto, expressed his hope that the Kolibri-001 could contribute to increasing gas production for the Eastern Indonesia Region. "We will accelerate the business process so that the Kolibri-001 can immediately enter the Exploration Status Determination (PSE) stage to accelerate the monetization of these findings," said Endro.

PHE, as Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, will continue to develop professional management of domestic and foreign operations to realize world-class oil and gas achievements.

PHE has been registered with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) as a participant/member since June 2022. PHE is committed to the Ten Principles of UNGC in its strategy and operations to implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects. PHE will continue to develop professional management of operations at home and abroad to become a world-class oil and gas company that is environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and good governance.**
