Pertamina Ensures Safe Fuel Supply, LPG, and Avtur Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1444H in Central Java & Yogyakarta

Semarang, April 11, 2022 ― To ensure fuel, LPG, and Avtur security and availability stocks in Central Java Province (Central Java) and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriyah, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Regional formed a Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) 1444 Hijriyah Task Force from April 1 to May 2, 2023.

"During the 2023 Rafi Task Force, the fuel consumption trend in Central Java and DIY is estimated to increase. Gasoline fuel types (Pertalite and Pertamax Series) are predicted to increase by 29 percent compared to the average daily norm for January-February 2023 from 12,733 Kilo Liters (KL) to 16,412 KL," said the Executive General Manager of Central Java Regional PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Aji Anom Purwasakti.

Anom added Gasoil fuel types (Biosolar and Dex Series) experienced a decrease of 1.7 percent from 6,614 KL to 6,504 KL. Reduced industrial activity occurred during Eid al-Fitr, leads this outcome.  As for LPG (PSO & Non-PSO), Pertamina has prepared additional stocks of up to 3.7 percent compared to the average daily consumption or the equivalent of more than 4.46 Metric Tonnes (MT) from the average of 4.3 MT.

Gasoline consumption for the 2023 Rafi Task Force period has increased by 7.8 percent compared to the previous task force period, while gasoil consumption has also increased by 11 percent. The Gasoil consumption increase was due to the increasing vehicle volume during the 2023 RAFI compared to the previous period.

For Avtur, the provinces of Central Java and DIY experienced an increase of 5.1 percent from the daily average of 243 KL to 256 KL.

Besides ensuring the fuel supplies availability, Pertamina Patra Niaga guarantees LPG availability, including in Central Java & DIY, by adding a fleet of tankers, preparing 750 Standby Agents and 4,832 PSO Standby Bases, and 882 Non-PSO Outlets operating during the holidays. For areas with high demand, several LPG Agents are on 24-hour standby.

Not only that, but consumers can also order non-subsidized fuel and Bright Gas using Pertamina Delivery Service at 135.

"Through the Pertamina Delivery Service, consumers can contact Pertamina Call Center at 135, and we will send Bright Gas cylinders from our nearest LPG agent," Anom said.

Anticipating the heavy flow during Eid al-Fitr homecoming, which causes traffic jams, Pertamina has also prepared pocket petrol stations in the form of tank trucks on standby as fuel supply pockets/reserves at points prone to traffic jams.

The peak of the homecoming flow is predicted to occur on April 19, 2023, while the return flow is predicted to occur on April 29, 2023. Several petrol stations located in several strategic locations will also operate 24 hours.
