Pertamina Eco RunFest 2023 Contributes to Humanitarian Efforts for Palestine

Jakarta, November 26, 2023 - Pertamina Eco RunFest 2023 has successfully gathered humanitarian donations for Palestine amounting to IDR 3 billion. This aid will be distributed through the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta.

The humanitarian action for Palestine signifies Pertamina's concern regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. These donations are expected to assist the Palestinian community, which needs a helping hand from the global community.

The humanitarian effort was directly handed over by the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, to the Palestinian Ambassador for Indonesia, Zuhair Al Shun, on Sunday, November 26, 2023, during the Pertamina Eco RunFest event at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

Simultaneously, Nicke also delivered 4 million mangrove and terrestrial tree seedlings for the Pertamina Forest Program and aid for the renewable energy implementation in the Self-Reliant Energy Village Program across 67 villages throughout Indonesia.

Nicke expressed that aside from advocating for a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle, Pertamina Eco RunFest 2023 consistently cares about improving people's lives, including aiding humanitarian crises worldwide.

"We are all aware that there are our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are not as fortunate as we are. That is why, specifically this year, we extend our support to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Although we understand the severity of their situation, we hope that this humanitarian effort will reduce their burden in Palestine," said Nicke.

The Palestinian Ambassador for Indonesia, Zuhair Al Shun, expressed gratitude to Pertamina and the Indonesian Government.

"Indonesia always stands in support of justice for Palestine. This stance has been conveyed by President Joko Widodo, as well as through all diplomatic channels in this country's parliament and among the Indonesian people," stated Zuhair.
