Semarang, August 24, 2022 - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java consistently reminds Pertamina petrol stations in Central Java and the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) to ensure that subsidized fuel transactions at petrol stations adhere to their designation in accordance with the relevant regulations. It was conveyed by the Area Manager of Communication, Relations, & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the Central Java Region of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Brasto Galih Nugroho on Monday (22/8) in Semarang.

"Pertamina Patra Niaga strictly oversees the subsidized fuel distribution to be on target, and if there are indications of criminal elements of subsidized fuel misuse, the action will be processed following the applicable legal provisions," he said.

He emphasized that Pertamina will take firm action if it a distributor agency is to sell fuel to vehicles that have modified tanks or cooperate with consumers to misuse subsidized fuel.

"The manual subsidized diesel purchases recording at petrol stations that have been carried out so far allows us to see unusual transactions for subsidized fuel after the transaction," said Brasto.

He explained that Pertamina continues to coordinate with law enforcement officials related to escorting subsidized fuel distribution.

"Throughout 2022, there were 5 cases in Central Java and DIY that have been revealed by the police. It includes modified vehicle fuel tanks to buy diesel at petrol stations then stockpiled and illegally resold," he said.

Furthermore, Brasto explained that in addition to criminal punishment, Pertamina had set sanctions for distributors proven to sell subsidized fuel incorrectly, namely in the form of subsidized diesel distribution suspension for 30 days, up to cooperation termination.
