National Health Day 2023: SOE Holding Hospital Undertakes Digital Ecosystem Transformation

Jakarta, November 11, 2023 – In commemoration of National Health Day 2023, PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), a State-Owned Hospital Holding, is taking steps towards transformation through a digital ecosystem utilization to enhance the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia.

"The digital ecosystem utilization can enhance business innovation and competitiveness in the healthcare sector," stated Dr. Lia Gardenia Partakusuma, Medical Director of IHC.

According to her, the digital ecosystem in the healthcare sector refers to a network of interconnected technologies, devices, and stakeholders working together to provide comprehensive and limitless healthcare services. Some technologies related to healthcare service digitization include e-MR, Internet of Things (IoT), Wearable Devices, and Telemedicine.

Challenges faced in healthcare services digitization include interoperability issues, security concerns, and complex regulations. However, the digital ecosystem overcomes these challenges by securely connecting and coordinating healthcare systems and data.

IHC has implemented various digital solutions in its healthcare services, including:

  • IHC Telemed application, a telemedicine service allowing patients to consult with doctors online.
  • Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS), aiding administrative processes and making healthcare services more efficient and effective.
  • e-MR, an electronic medical record system facilitating real-time patient data access.

IHC Telemed, as a telemedicine service provider application, enables patients to consult with doctors online. Additionally, the application offers services such as clinic booking, doctor schedules, Emergency Room (IGD), home care, IHC Screening, and Digital Patient Identity. IHC Telemed telemedicine services can be conducted between patients and doctors or between doctors.

"IHC Telemed is one of the digital ecosystem implementations to enhance access to quality healthcare services, especially in remote and underserved areas," said Dr. Lia.

"IHC Telemed is also equipped with various supporting features, including chat, video calls, and file sharing. These features make it easier for patients to consult with doctors, make clinic bookings, and access other health information," she added.

IHC Telemed has served more than one million patients and has been implemented in 36 IHC Group hospitals, with more than 1,100 general/specialist/subspecialist doctors, general/dental specialists, and psychologists integrated into the application.

"We aim for IHC Telemed to be accessible in more than 50 IHC Group hospitals by 2024," Dr. Lia stated.

IHC Telemed is a manifestation of IHC's commitment to being a leader in healthcare services digitalization in Indonesia. By adopting and leveraging the digital ecosystem, IHC believes it can enhance its competitiveness in the healthcare industry.

"We believe that the digitization of healthcare services can be a game-changer in improving the quality of healthcare services in Indonesia," said Dr. Lia.

"We will continue to innovate and develop digital solutions that can benefit patients, healthcare professionals, and the wider community," she concluded.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina is undergoing digitization across all business lines to enhance competitiveness and provide excellent service to the entire Indonesian population.

"The digitization carried out by Pertamina is necessary in the digital era to realize a world-class company," said Fadjar.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement.
