Pertamina Presents 60 Fostered MSMEs at the MSME Bazaar

Jakarta, August 14, 2023 – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, is committed to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) upgrade through State-Owned Enterprises’ collaborative program known as the MSME Bazaar for Indonesia. To celebrate the 78th Anniversary of Indonesia's Independence Day, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, in collaboration with Pertamina and Angkasa Pura II, organized an MSME Bazaar (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) at Sarinah Building in Jakarta from August 11th to 14, 2023. This bazaar aims to expand the market reach for MSME business operators and promote local economic growth.

The event showcases a variety of MSME products, including fashion, beauty, culinary, crafts, and features musical performances, trunk shows, product demonstrations, SOEs’ employee fashion shows, mini workshops, independence-themed competitions, and a performance by Salma from Indonesian Idol.

More than 100 Pertamina and Angkasa Pura II fostered MSMEs participated in this bazaar. The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, through the Advisory Staff for Finance and MSME Development, Loto Srinaita Ginting, explained that this event serves as a platform for MSMEs to be known better within the community.

"Since 2023, the MSME Bazaar for Indonesia has been held monthly. The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises fully supports MSME operators, ranging from guidance, financing, market expansion, and partnership programs. It is hoped that SME operators can leverage this support by building a good reputation to elevate their status," said Loto during the MSME bazaar’s opening.

Fajriyah Usman, Vice President of CSR of Pertamina, who explained Pertamina's CSR program and the export capabilities of Pertamina’s fostered MSMEs’ was also present at the event.

"In addition to batik and kebaya, there are 60 fostered MSMEs, some of which are outstanding exporters, such as Haluan Bali, which combines art and technology. Furthermore, some MSMEs guide 300 individuals with disabilities in the Kebumen area. I am confident that in this 4-day bazaar, values exceeding one billion will be generated. Pertamina has four access for MSMEs: training, organizing exhibitions on a national and international scale, funding, and networking. Pertamina has funded over 66,000 MSMEs throughout Indonesia," explained Fajriyah.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, added that Pertamina supports SMEs through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, including the participation of Pertamina-fostered MSMEs in domestic and international exhibitions or bazaars. Supported MSMEs are also a tangible manifestation of Pertamina's efforts in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly target 8, which supports inclusive and sustainable economic growth and full and productive employment. "This program empowers MSMEs. Through this program, Pertamina can continue to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth and the provision of decent jobs, which are expected to impact efforts to stimulate the community’s economy," Fadjar stated.

On the same occasion, Ajar Setiadi, Director of Human Capital of Angkasa Pura II, added that there are also many MSMEs present in the airports managed by Angkasa Pura II.

"We have invited 58 partner SMEs under Angkasa Pura II's mentorship. These MSME operators are present in 20 airports managed by Angkasa Pura II. Most of their products are food, and notably, some craftsmen directly create their products, allowing people to witness the production process," said Ajar Setiadi.

The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises will continue to collaborate with other state-owned enterprises to support MSMEs throughout Indonesia in their journey to upgrade and go global. One of the initiatives is the ongoing consistent and vibrant hosting of the MSME Bazaar, which is expected to be conducted monthly and with even more enthusiasm.
