Looking at the Positive Side of the Covid-19 Pandemic for Pertamina Go Digital MSE Partners

Jakarta, September 11, 2022 – The Covid-19 pandemic has hurt Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs). However, digital technology is advancing, and MSEs are becoming more active in the digital market. In 2022, data shows that 4,181 Foster Partners have succeeded in Go Digital, and 398 Fostered Partners have successfully passed through the UMK Academy's Go Digital class.

Based on data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, as many as 19 million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), entered the digital ecosystem until May 2022. This number is still 11 million less than the target of 30 million MSMEs Go Digital in 2024. Meanwhile, the total turnover of the total MSMEs that went digital reached IDR 500 trillion to IDR 600 trillion.

To support these targets, Pertamina provides briefings to MSEs in the Go Digital class on August 22-24, 2022. The Go Digital training is aimed at MSEs focusing on using digital applications and automation in business and marketing processes. The material discussion raised sales optimization through content and business optimization through messaging applications.

The messaging application is a digital platform whose primary purpose is used to meet communication needs and connect users to reach wider area, such as Whatsapp business.

In the Go Digital class, explanations were given along with practice in making business Whatsapp applications, Line Official Accounts, and Google Business. The advantage of the Line Official Account is that account owners can broadcast for promotions, distribute coupons and measure account performance through the statistical features provided.

MSE actors are also directed to use the Google Business account, which is created so that account owners can obtain information and conduct online interactions with customers in optimizing their business.

Evi, the owner of Safira Zulhi engaged in crafts and food from Sidoarjo, East Java, feels very lucky to be selected as one of the participants of the 2022 UMK Academy.

"It has only been a few days, but I have felt the benefits. Go Digital materials for today are needed," she said.

Meanwhile, Vice President CSR & SMEPP PT Pertamina (Persero), Fajriyah Usman, explained in the digital era like today, MSEs should carry out digital transformation immediately. Considering today, people prefer to carry out their daily activities online.

"Currently, awareness of MSMEs using digital platforms is low. Many still use conventional methods in selling their products. Therefore, through this Go Digital class, it is hoped that MSEs will understand more about the advantages of using digital platforms in marketing their products," said Fajriyah. 

Fajriyah added that through the 2022 UMK Academy and the spirit of Energizing Your Future, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy--energy that fuels, especially energy that produces sustainable growth. As well as encourage each partner to become MSEs that upgrade and Go Digital.
