Keeping Operations Continue, Pertamina-Medco-TEL Gets Contract Extension for Senoro-Toili Working Area

Jakarta, June 21, 2022 - Pertamina Hulu Energi Tomori-Sulawesi has officially received a contract extension as the Senoro-Toili Working Area (WK) operator through the Senoro-Toili WK Extension Contract signing, approved by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (02/06).

The signing process of the Senoro-Toili WK began on April 7, 2022, by SKK Migas and the Senoro-Toili contractors consisting of Pertamina Hulu Energi Tomori-Sulawesi, PT Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi (Medco E&P), and Tomori E&P Limited (TEL). The ownership of PI WK Senoro-Toili after termination remains the same as it is today, namely Pertamina Hulu Energi Tomori-Sulawesi 50%, MedcoEnergi 30%, and TEL 20%. WK Senoro Toili, which will expire on December 3, 2027, has been extended until 2047.

Awang Lazuardi, Director of PHE TS, a member of the Eastern Indonesia Upstream Subholding Region, explained, "The Senoro-Toili WK extension follows Pertamina's Long Term Plan. This WK is one of the priorities to get certainty about the contract extension because it still has great development potential. Pertamina is also committed to continuing strategic partnerships with existing partners to maximize synergy and alignment in the management and long-term investment in this WK," said Awang.

The Head of SKK Migas, Dwi Soetjipto, congratulated the contractors on their success in getting the Senoro-Toili WK contract extension. "We appreciate the contractors' long-term investment commitment. Through the extension of the Senoro Toili WK PSC, it is hoped that it can contribute to the national production targets achievement and provide benefits for the Indonesian people," he said.

The President Director of Medco E&P, Ronald Gunawan, also expressed his support for the Senoro-Toili WK management sustainability. "MedcoEnergi is grateful for the trust and support given by the Government to continue the Senoro-Toili WK management and the good cooperation with PHE Tomori Sulawesi and TEL in the joint management of the Senoro-Toili WK so far. The company continues to be committed to meeting the production targets determined by the Government and contributing to industry and society through community empowerment programs around the operational area," said Ronald Gunawan.

The first WK Senoro – Toili contract was signed in 1997 for 30 years. This Working Area recorded its first oil discovery in the Tiaka field in 1985, with its first production in 2005. By the end of 2021, WK Senoro – Toili has produced 143 MMBOE (million barrels of oil equivalent).

With ​​a 451 square kilometers area, WK Senoro Toili will continue to strengthen energy production in the Central Sulawesi region by synergizing to supply gas for the Donggi Senoro LNG Plant and other consumers.
