Ensuring Stability, Pertamina Monitors Fuel and LPG Ahead of Elections in Central Java and Yogyakarta

Semarang, February 11, 2024 - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java is monitoring the distribution and supply of Fuel (BBM) and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) ahead of the 2024 General Election to meet consumer needs in Central Java and Yogyakarta Province. It was conveyed by the Area Manager of Comm, Rel & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java, Brasto Galih Nugroho, on Sunday (11/2).

"Migrants who will return to their hometowns to vote their rights would contribute to a 4% increase in gasoline consumption and 3% for gasoil products from the normal daily consumption average," Brasto said.

The daily average consumption in the Central Java and Yogyakarta regions is 12,789 Kiloliters/day for gasoline (Pertalite and Pertamax Series) and 19,455 Kiloliters/day for gasoil (Biosolar and Dex Series).

Furthermore, Brasto also explained that Pertamina continues to ensure and monitor regularly to ensure that the supply and distribution of fuel and LPG are safe and sufficient.

"On Election Day, there will certainly be an increase in LPG consumption with an estimated 1.1% increase in LPG consumption in the Central Java and Yogyakarta regions from 4,667 metric tons/day to 4,718 metric tons/day," Brasto explained.

Several regions predicted to experience significant increases have also been stocked up during this democratic event with extended operational hours by assigning petrol stations, agents, and LPG depots to be on standby 24 hours at designated points by Pertamina.

Separately, the Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, explained ahead of the 2024 Election, Pertamina has prepared energy facilities and infrastructure to serve the community.

"The fuel, Avtur, and LPG supply is sufficient and secure for the community's needs during the holiday and the 2024 Election," Fadjar said.

As information, Brasto added, "Pertamina Patra Niaga has formed a Task Force or Satgas for Controlling and Monitoring the Smooth Fuel and LPG Distribution during the 2024 Election period, which started from February 5 to February 18, 2024.

Based on February 10, 2024 update, fuel and LPG stock endurance are safe. In the terminals or depots of Central Java and Yogyakarta, gasoline products have stock endurance of over 20 days, gasoil products over six days, and LPG over five days. This stock endurance does not yet include stock endurance on ships, refineries, and pipelines, so when added up, it is far above the stock endurance figures at terminals or depots. The current stock condition will be maintained or supplied continuously.

"Consumers need not worry. Pertamina always ensures that energy distribution runs smoothly and safely. Keep using quality fuel according to your vehicle's specifications," he explained.
