Sri Setyaningsih, Pertamina Difablepreneur Wins the Best Local Hero in the BCOMSS of the Ministry of SOE

Jakarta, March 11, 2023 - Sri Setyaningsih is one of many disabled members of Pertamina's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through the Disablepreneur program in Boyolali Regency, Central Java. At the SOE Corporate Communications and Sustainability Summit (BCOMSS) 2023 event, Thursday night in Jakarta (9/3), she was named the best local hero among other contestants coached by SOE companies in Indonesia.

The local hero is a term for community leaders who could inspire others, especially in realizing the impact of positive change through a CSR program by a company.

Acting Area Manager Communication, Relations & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Central Java PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kevin Kurnia Gumilang, stated that the Difableprenuer program is one of the leading TJSL programs by Pertamina with the communities around Boyolali Terminal Fuel.

“This program has been initiated since 2018 and to this date has empowered at least 350 disabled people in Boyolali Regency,” Kevin said.

The program continues to develop with the increasing number of fostered disabled groups, from one group to three groups of disabled people, with each entrepreneurial activity.

"Among them are Kresna Patra with sewing activities, Sriekandi Patra with batik activities, and the Ampel Disabled Community through Pertamina gas cylinder delivery services. Mrs. Sri Setyaningsih was one of the initiators of the Kresna Patra group," he said.

Sri Setyaningsih, in the BCOMSS judging event, tells her life journey until she finally joined Pertamina’s TJSL program with other disabled people.

“I once migrated from Boyolali to work in a garment company in Boyolali for 15 years, from 2000 to 2015. But then my heart was moved to return to Boyolali to start a disabled community with sewing activities," Sri said.

Even so, her good intentions did not run well at the time, until finally, Sri met with Pertamina in 2021 in the TJSL Disableprenuer development program.

“We have received a lot of assistance from Pertamina, including assistance with sewing equipment and building renovation, which is currently a sewing workshop for the Kresna Patra disabled group, and several kinds of training. Thus some of us could fulfill the skills to work in a garment company in Boyolali," Sri concluded.

According to her, this significantly impact on disabled people.

"From being unable to do anything at first, now they can support themselves, even their family," Sri said.**
