Semeru Erupts, Pertamina Ensures Stock Resilience and Smooth Distribution of BBM and LPG

Lumajang, December 5, 2021 - Regarding the natural disaster of Mount Semeru eruption on Saturday (4/12), Pertamina Patra Niaga in the Jatimbalinus area ensures that the stock of fuel and LPG, as well as the distribution of those two products, remain stable. This is stated by the Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, Deden Mochamad Idhani through a press release.

"In Lumajang Regency, there are 17 petrol stations and 12 LPG PSO (Subsidized) agents that are currently still operating. Moreover, in the affected area, there is the closest distribution agency, namely SPBU 54.673.10 located in Pronojiwo district, or 14 kilometers from Puncak Semeru. Because the Gladak Perak bridge is cut off, the petrol station supply will be diverted through the Surabaya Integrated Terminal, that previously through the Malang Fuel Terminal," said Deden.

Furthermore, Deden added that Pertashops in nearby villages, namely Sumberurip, Sumberwuluh, Penanggal, and Kloposawit, were monitored to continue operating but supply would also be diverted from the Malang Fuel Terminal to the Surabaya Integrated Terminal.

"For the distribution of LPG in the Pronojiwo and Tempursari districts, the stock is currently monitored sufficient, but there will also be a transfer of supply from SPPBE in the Lumajang Regency to SPPBE in the Malang Regency with an average distribution of 40,000 cylinders per month," said Deden.

Pertamina Patra Niaga also continues to coordinate with relevant stakeholders such as BPBD and the Police for smooth operations in the field, as well as other assistance.

"We will continue to evaluate and provide the latest news regarding operations in the field. People do not need to panic because we are committed to distributing energy throughout the area," stated Deden.**
