Pertamina EP Adera Field Successfully Increases Oil and Gas Production

Muara Enim and PALI, February 15, 2023 – Pertamina EP (PEP) Adera Field Cooperation Contract Contractor, part of Pertamina Upstream Subholding Sumatra Regional Zone 4 under the SKK Migas supervision, successfully increased oil and gas production from the BNG-D2 (BNG-54) and BNG-B2 (BNG-55) well, Tuesday (14/02). The BNG-D2 (BNG-54) well produces 2,473 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), while the BNG-B2 (BNG-55) well produces 1,585 BOPD. This figure exceeds the production target for the two wells, where the production target for the BNG-D2 (BNG-54) well is 458 BOPD (540%), and the production target for the BNG-B2 (BNG-55) well is 378 BOPD (419%).

Besides producing oil, the two wells also exceeded gas production target. The BNG-D2 (BNG-54) well produced 2.54 million standard cubic feet of gas (Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day/MMSCFD), or 976% of the 0.26 MMSCFD target. Meanwhile, the BNG-B2 (BNG-55) well produced 5.44 MMSCFD of gas or 326% of the target of 1.67 MMSCFD.

General Manager of Zone 4, Agus Amperianto, said the achievement shows a positive result for the 2023 Work Plan (RK) realization. “We will continue to make the highest efforts to achieve production targets and implement good HSSE aspects in all operations," Agus said.

Senior Manager of Zone 4 Sub Surface Development & Planning (SSDP), Giyatno, added that the two wells were the result of a collaboration between the Pertamina Subsurface team and SKK Migas Subsurface to accelerate RK 2024, following the previous drilling wells' success in the Benuang structure, namely BNG-B1, BNG-D1 and BNG-E1 in 2022. "Apart from exceeding production targets and successfully accelerating the Work Plan, the company also managed drilling costs efficiently with 91% budget realization for BNG-D2 and 90% for BNG-B2," Giyatno said.

Supporting the successful Benuang well drilling, Deputy Exploitation of SKK Migas, Wahju Wibowo, appreciates Pertamina for working hard and making massive efforts with out-of-the-box methods to explore the existing structure production potential in the PEP WK Benuang area. "The drilling realization results from the two additional wells, BNG-B2 and BNG-D2, created an optimistic start to the year. It will continue with the Benuang structure development in 2023 as part of the struggle to achieve the national one million BOPD oil and 12 BSCF gas production target in 2030," Wahju said.

The Head of SKK Migas Representative Office for Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel), Anggono Mahendrawan, coveys his appreciation, "The target for oil and gas production in the South Sumatra region becomes part of the effort to achieve the national oil and gas production target, so that efforts to increase production accompanied by new oil and gas reserves discovery to be our passion with the support from stakeholders in the regions. Thus achieving energy security became a success for us," Anggono concluded.**
