50 MSMEs in NTB Welcomes MotoGP 2022 Visitors With a Variety of Authentic Lombok Food and Drink

Jakarta, March 18, 2022 – The international motorcycle racing event held on March 18-20, 2022, at Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, had a tremendous impact on various aspects of life, not only enhancing Indonesia's global reputation but also providing new hope in the economic field for local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Through the collaboration between Pertamina and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenperekraf) and the West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) SME Cooperatives Official curated and selected 50 MSMEs to provide visitors' needs, with various foods and beverages, which are of course the most sought after the grand MotoGP event.

Fajriyah Usman, VP Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), conveyed that 50 Pertamina Silver Booths were located in the Tunnel 2 Area. Its strategic location made it possible for many people to visit. Currently, MSMEs are preparing booths and a wide selection of ready-to-eat food and beverage, such as quail racing rice, soto, chicken taliwang, etc. They also prepare snacks, such as cakes, fruit, and various ready-to-eat snacks. A variety of hot and cold drinks are also available.

For souvenirs, food/drinks such as honey and Lombok coffee are also available with unique and attractive packaging. The booths also provide some souvenir products to take home.

"The prestigious MotoGP Mandalika event is expected to be able to create attractive opportunities for local MSMEs," Fajriyah added.

Fostered MSMEs involvement in the international motorcycle racing event at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit is proof of the state-owned corporation support of (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement. Especially point 8, which is related to the provision of employment and economic growth, as well as the implementation of programs based on ESG (Environmental, Socials and Governance) in all Pertamina operational areas.

Pertamina hopes that the Pertamina Mandalika Street Circuit, which began with the Asia Talent, World Superbike (WSBK) event last November, following the March 18-20 MotoGP, will have a broad impact on national economic growth, especially for the tourism industry players and local MSMEs. "Hopefully, its existence will be an opportunity for business actors and MSMEs to enter the global market," she added.
