30 Participants from 19 Campuses Passed the First Seed and Scale 2022 Demoday

Jakarta, November 1, 2022 – After going through a strict filtering and curation process, 30 participants from 2,445 applicants for the Business Idea Competition organized by PT Pertamina (Persero) were finally selected to take part in the Demoday Pertamuda Seed and Scale 2022, planned to be held on November 3-6, 2022 online.

It was recorded that participants who passed came from 19 campuses. It includes Institut Bisnis Muhammadiyah Bekasi, Institut Pertanian Bogor, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Ciputra Surabaya, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and Universitas Telkom.

Most of the participants who passed Pertamuda's curation are from East Java, while the rest are from the Special Region of Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, and North Sumatera provinces.

“Last year, there were 23 campuses and 17 provinces with 50 participants participating in the Demoday. This year, the screening is stricter in hope the quality will be better than last year," said Heppy Wulansari, Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero).

On Demoday, ten finalists will be selected to participate in the Final Pitch offline in Bali.

During the final pitch stage, the finalists  will present in front of the jury, Pertamina officials, and several investors invited to attend the event.

Finalists who pass will receive a coaching fund with a total value of IDR 100 million for each participant, and the home campus will also receive a mentoring fund of IDR 25 million.

Heppy Wulansari stated that numerous young entrepreneurs are required to create a more developed Indonesia. These individuals will support the nation's economy.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia also appealed for collaboration between Universities and Industry to encourage national entrepreneurship growth acceleration.

"Welcoming the appeal, PT Pertamina (Persero) has held a business idea competition for university students throughout Indonesia through the Pertamuda or Pertamina Muda Seed and Scale 2022 for the past two years," said Heppy Wulansari.

The current process has gone through several stages. Starting from the Pertamuda Seed and Scale 2022 registration, opened on August 15 by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, and closed on October 18, 2022. There were 2,445 registrants.

Furthermore, the socialization stage went through 4 workshops to the filtering and curation process.**
