The current Pertamina's NBM/Petrochemical products are :
Polypropylene Plant Established in 1973 in Plaju, South Sumatera, produced PP with its trade name Polytam PP, used as raw material for plastic industries. In 1993, this plant was shut down and renewed in 1994. Methanol Plant Established in 1984 in Pulau Bunyu, East Kalimantan, produces Methanol, mostly used as raw materials for producing adhesive and other chemical products. Petroleum Cokes Plant Established in 1985 in Dumai, Riau, produces Gree Cokes and Calcined Cokes which are important as raw materials for producing electrodes, briquette for steel melting, industrial furnace, etc. Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) Plant This plant was constructed in 1985 in Plaju, South Sumatra, producing PTA which is useful as raw material for producing polyester used mostly as clothing materials and other items. Is part of Cilacap Oil
Refinery, Central Java and Commenced operation in 1988. This plant
produces Paraxylene, Benzene, LPG and Raffinate extensively used by
chemical industries, among others as raw materials for PTA production
in Plaju. The existence of Pertamina Petrochemical products is mainly to serve the needs of the related down-stream industries, both in the home country and abroad. To support the marketing of the above petrochemical products, DPMP provides Technical Service and Technical Assistance to customers and other industries, either as consumers of Pertamina Petrochemical products or not. |
