Green Coke

Description

Green Coke , produced in UP II Dumai Refinery, is proceed from solid carbon substance utilizing Delayed Cooking Unit, which is able to be transferred from short residue to Green Coke.

Green Coke has heavier fraction compared to fuel oil, therefore, their caloric equivalet/rate is lower than fuel oil, viz around 7.500 – 8.500 K.cal/Kg. However, Green Cokes in term of calorific value, has higher calorie than coal does, that is only 5000 - 6000 K.cal/Kg.

Green Coke is distributed in bulk form.

Special Features

  1. Having higher calorific value (7.500 - 8.500 K.cal/Kg) compared to coal (5000 - 6000 K.cal/Kg)
  2. Containing low ash value.

Production Capacity

330.000 meric ton/year.

Application/Benefit

Green Coke can be applied as following :
  1. Reductor applying in melted tin process;
  2. Applying as fuel for industries below :
    1. Tin
    2. Cement
    3. Electrical Power Station
    4. Melting Steel process
    5. Applying for aluminium melting process; and
    6. Electroda industry
    7. Basic material in producing calcined coke.
