“Dealing with climate change can only be done by working together in concrete action, not blaming each other.” The world emits around 50 billion tons of greenhouse gas per year, and it is our obligation to reduce global emissions. Moreover, the most carbon emission reduction comes from Pertamina operation efficiency in refinery and upstream facility, flare gas utilization, waste heat recovery in upstream and refinery, and other energy initiatives in geothermal. Pertamina believes that energy sectors have an important role in tackling the global emissions issue. In the energy sector, the Indonesian government aims to reduce as much as 314 million tons of CO2 emission in 2030, of which 183.66 million tons, or more than 50 percent of a target for the New & Renewable Energy (NRE) sector.
