Visiting Integrated Terminal Jakarta, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Appreciates Pertamina's Nataru Task Force in Ensuring Smooth Energy Distribution

Jakarta, December 29, 2023 – Ahead of the new year, the Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, accompanied by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, directly inspected the readiness of the Integrated Terminal Jakarta (ITJ) in Plumpang, Tanjung Priok, to secure energy distribution.

Deputy Minister Tiko, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo's familiar name, conveyed that through the 2024 Christmas and New Year Task Force (Nataru), Pertamina ensures energy availability for the people across Indonesia, especially during the Nataru holiday period.

"We are examining distribution’s readiness and reliability, particularly Pertamina's assets for fuel filling in the Jabodetabek area," stated Deputy Minister Tiko during the visit to the Integrated Terminal Jakarta on Friday, December 29, 2023.

The Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises also explained that Pertamina's upstream oil and gas production has reached over one million barrels per day (oil equivalent) to fulfill the domestic energy demand. The government, he continued, appreciates Pertamina Group's efforts in maintaining national fuel distribution and requests that the distribution be ensured following the targeted distribution, emphasizing efficiency.

"Continue to monitor and ensure smooth operations. Appreciation to the entire team who has worked diligently, especially in continually maintaining asset integrity," he added.

During the visit, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, revealed that Pertamina's Nataru Task Force has been active from December 15, 2023, until January 7, which has been running smoothly.

"The demand for fuel and LPG by the public has been fulfilled. Pertamina will continue to ensure, systematically, that we safeguard all our supplies and maintain our quality, thus ensuring the public's comfort during the Christmas and New Year holidays," expressed Nicke.

President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, added that before the Nataru Task Force was dispatched, Pertamina had coordinated with the Ministry of Transportation to prepare for the public's needs. Therefore, Pertamina has implemented distribution strategies to anticipate spikes in fuel consumption.

"Based on the forecasted increase in consumption during Nataru Task Force, Pertalite will rise by 3%, Pertamax and other common fuels will increase by 7-10%. Meanwhile, LPG is expected to experience a decrease," he disclosed.

Furthermore, Riva mentioned that Pertamina also provides additional energy services in areas or routes that are potentially crowded, such as toll roads, tourist routes, and main transit routes, in the form of standby petrol stations, LPG Standby Agents & Outlets, Standby Pertamina Kiosks, Motorists, Standby Tank Trucks (Pocket Petrol Stations), and various health facilities and other support.

Meanwhile, during the visit to ITJ, Deputy Minister Tiko also encouraged Pertamina's plan to develop an environmentally friendly and advanced energy terminal in Indonesia, namely the Jakarta Integrated Green Terminal (JIGT). JIGT will be built in the Kalibaru area by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) and PT Pelindo (Persero).

"In the long term, Pertamina will relocate gradually to the reclamation area in Kalibaru. This area will become an energy hub for fuel and other energies in the Jabodetabek region," stated Tiko.

President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping, Yoki Firnandi, affirmed that the JIGT construction progress is continuously advancing with several developments. "All progress is still on track. If there are no obstacles by the end of next year, we can start the project," he said.

JIGT represents Pertamina's commitment to energy transition, where eventually, JIGT will not only accommodate fuels like LPG, gasoline, and biodiesel but also be designed to accommodate LNG (liquefied natural gas), CPO (palm oil), UCO (Used Cooking Oil), petrochemicals, and hydrogen.

Also present at the visit were Director of Logistics and Infrastructure of Pertamina, Alfian Nasution, Director of Business Support of Pertamina, Erry Widiastono, as well as President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN), Riva Siahaan, and President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), Yoki Firnandi.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
