President Director of Pertamina Monitors LPG Distribution from the Command Center

Jakarta, July 29, 2023 – To ensure the LPG distribution, especially the 3 kg LPG cylinders, to all regions in Indonesia, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, conducted monitoring of LPG distribution at the Pertamina Integrated Enterprise Data and Command Center (PIEDCC) in Grha Pertamina, Jakarta on Saturday, July 29, 2023. During the event, the President Director also held a coordination meeting through video conference with General Managers from all marketing operational units.

The President Director's direct observation was carried out with the Director of Logistics & Infrastructure of Pertamina, the Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, and the SVP of PIEDCC.

Nicke explained that the meeting was held to directly monitor the LPG supply and distribution throughout the regions from PIEDCC. It is a step by Pertamina to manage LPG supply in each area.

"This afternoon, we conducted a video conference with all the Directors of Patra Niaga and the GMs from all regions to check the LPG supply and its distribution status to ensure that all the programs we have pushed to address the issues in the field are resolved," Nicke said.

Based on the data obtained directly from PIEDCC, Nicke revealed that the LPG stock and supply were safe. However, there were some areas where the distribution needed better supervision. Nicke also emphasized the need for cooperation and coordination with local governments to ensure LPG supply safety.

"Tomorrow, we will directly inspect some regions. We will need the cooperation of the local governments, law enforcement agencies, and the DPR for further coordination. The bottom line is we will ensure that we can overcome this scarcity phenomenon because the supply is secure," Nicke continued.

The subsidized LPG distribution is regulated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Oil and Gas Law No. 22 of 2001, Ministerial Decree No. 37.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2023 concerning the Technical Instructions for Distributing Specific Refillable Liquefied Petroleum Gas to Targeted Recipients, and the Directorate General of Oil and Gas Decree No. 99.K/MG.05/DJM/2023 concerning Phased Areas and Time of Implementation for Distributing Specific Refillable Liquefied Petroleum Gas to Targeted Recipients. According to these regulations, users of 3 kg LPG cylinders include households, micro-businesses, target farmers, and target fishermen.

Nicke appealed to the public not to engage in panic buying related to LPG stocks. People were asked to report any obstacles, deviations, shortages, or LPG prices not according to government regulations to Pertamina's Call Center at 135.

"I want to convey to the public that subsidized LPG is intended for those who are less fortunate. If the public sees any deviations, irregularities, shortages, or prices above the retail price set by the local government, please report it to 135. I have checked the 3 kg LPG supply and ensured that it is sufficient on a national level, so there is no need for panic buying because supply is adequate," Nicke concluded.
