Pertamina RU VI Provides Compensation for Orphans & Holds Prayers for Pertamina Plumpang

Indramayu, March 9, 2023 - PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Refinery Unit VI Balongan held a muhasabah by providing compensation for orphans, followed by a prayer for the incident that occurred at the Jakarta Integrated Terminal (Pertamina Plumpang Depo).

This Muhasabah was held at the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month closing event on Sunday (05/03) at the Pertamina Bumi Patra Housing GOR Courtyard, Indramayu, West Java.

This assistance was symbolically handed over by the General Manager of PT KPI RU VI Balongan, Diandoro Arifian; General Chair of the Balongan United Pertamina Workers Union (SP-PBB), Wawan Darmawan; Management Team; and Management of the Patra Women's Association (PWP) RU VI Balongan to 20 orphans from Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School.

In his speech, GM RU VI, Diandoro Arifian, said this muhasabah is a form of support for Pertamina Plumpang, which is currently being tested, as well as praying for the affected communities to be given fortitude.

"This muhasabah is an expression of our empathy. Let us pray that this incident will no longer be repeated in all Pertamina business units," said Diandoro.

Diandoro hopes that the prayers of all workers in Balongan and the prayers of orphans can provide blessings for Pertamina and all workers to be protected and kept away from similar incidents.

Meanwhile, KH Amani Lutfi, a religious figure filling out the tausiyah as well as the leader of the prayer also prayed that the Pertamina Balongan Refinery operation would be given smooth operation and receive protection from Allah SWT so that its existence would benefit all levels of society.

Meanwhile, Area Manager Communication, Relations, and CSR of PT KPI RU VI, Mohamad Zulkifli, said that this orphan compensation program is an agenda that is carried out quite often on various occasions because it is a form of concern for the people who live around the operational area of the Balongan Refinery.

Zulkifli also said that Pertamina RU VI has a Disaster Emergency Response Team ready to be dispatched to help disaster-affected areas, including in Plumpang.

“We pray to Allah Subahanahu wa ta'ala that the same disaster will not happen again, and we take lessons from every incident. However, that is beyond human control, but we still have to make efforts," said Zulkifli.**
