On the Second Day of Inacraft 2024, Pertamina's MSMEs Achieve IDR 1.3 Billion Transactions

Jakarta, March 1, 2024 - MSMEs under PT Pertamina (Persero) once again prove their excellence by recording sales transactions of more than IDR 1.3 billion on February 29, 2024, the second day of the Inacraft 2024 event, held at the Jakarta Convention Center. The 29 participants of Pertamina-fostered MSMEs captured the attention of this largest craft exhibition in Southeast Asia's visitors, domestic and international.

"Pertamina will continue to involve its MSMEs to participate in domestic and international exhibitions. This is aimed at allowing local products to gain a place in the global market while providing a multiplier effect on the community's economy and driving the national economy," said the Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso.

Fadjar mentioned that the Pertamina-fostered MSMEs’ participation in Inacraft 2024 is an important step in supporting local economy development, enabling MSME products to grow and become competitive, as well as expanding globally into international markets.

One of the MSMEs whose products were highly sought after by foreign visitors is Menday Craft. Eva Harliah, the owner, revealed that their flagship product, pandanus seaweed woven crafts, particularly the pandanus mats, became the best-selling products. Pandanus mats are handmade products from pandanus seaweed found along the shores of Pantai Cermin, approximately 30 kilometers from the center of Medan. In addition to pandanus mats, their other products include bags, wallets, sandals, and more.

"I am touched by the response of the Inacraft 2024 visitors, especially those from abroad, to our pandanus mats. The pandanus mats became highly sought after by international visitors due to the uniqueness of handwoven craftsmanship without machines involvement," said Eva Harliah emotionally.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Yuli Astuti, the owner of Muria Batik Kudus. Classic batik and embroidered fabrics, their flagship products, garnered significant interest from visitors. One of the buyers from Malaysia placed an order for embroidered fabrics in pastel colors, intending to make a large purchase. "I have to produce the embroidered fabrics according to the requested colors first. Soon, five pieces of embroidered fabrics will be sent to Malaysia as samples, with shipments to be made gradually," said Yuli Astuti, a native of Kudus.

The same enthusiasm was shared by Joglo Ayu Tenan, an MSME from Yogyakarta. The booth located at Main Lobby No.18 of the JCC was visited by diaspora buyers from Beijing, China. They were immediately drawn to the Totebag Benaru (natural dye batik), handband batik tulis, and ethnic jewelry, all of which are environmentally friendly products.

"Alhamdulillah, our products were favored by the owner of Warisan Roemah Indonesia, Vini Dharmawan, a diaspora buyer from Beijing. We will soon send product samples, and we have also been invited to participate in exhibitions in Beijing," said Rahayu, the owner of Joglo Ayu Tenan.

Warisan Roemah Indonesia is a restaurant and gallery showcasing Indonesian products in Beijing, China. Vini's interest in Joglo Ayu Tenan's products stems not only from their environmentally friendly nature but also because they are handmade by skilled women around the production house and people with disabilities.

Inacraft, as the largest-scale craft exhibition in the Southeast Asia region, has become an annual routine, attracting craft enthusiasts from both the country and internationally. Held for five days since February 28, 2024, the organizers aimed to attract ten thousand visitors. The exhibition is expected to serve as a platform for interaction between MSMEs and craft enthusiasts or entrepreneurs, even fostering steps towards expansion into export markets.
