Maintain Safety, Pertamina Joint Tabletop Exercise “Security & Medical Evacuation” From Iraq

Jakarta, April 4, 2023 - PT Pertamina Irak Eksplorasi dan Produksi (PIREP), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP), consistently improves organizational capabilities through emergency response organization (ERO) training in dealing with security and health threats for workers in the West Qurna 1 oil and gas field, Iraq, Tuesday (21/03).

Joint training in emergency response to security at work and health by withdrawing or evacuating workers from Iraq to a safer country is carried out in a hybrid manner in the Business Support Team (BST) room or the Control Command Center (PUSKODAL) on the 12th floor of the Patra Jasa Building and virtually with M-Teams application.

The training activities are intended for BST members, Incident Management Team (IMT), and PIREP Workers, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu RI), the Directorate of Protection of Indonesian Citizens (PWNI), and the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) who enthusiastically participated during the training. The training was attended by 56 people, consisting of several groups. Namely, PIEP Jakarta and PIREP Iraq, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate of PWNI Jakarta, the Indonesian Embassy in Baghdad, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait City, and the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Observer; HSSE PHE, Zone 15 PT Pertamina Algeria EP (PAEP), and Zone 17 PT Pertamina Malaysia EP (PMEP).

Judha Nugraha, Director of PWNI and Indonesian Legal Entities (BHI) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, said, "We have the same responsibility to handle and protect Indonesian citizens. The emergency response management system built by Region 5 PIEP and PIREP seems good. It is just a matter of how we optimize the synergy between stakeholders as best as possible," he said.

PIREP workers in countries with security levels that can change at any time need knowledge, as well as an effective and efficient handling when dealing with extraordinary events. "It is hoped that this joint training can provide knowledge and rescue, and be able to deal with unpredictable emergency situations in the future. This activity is a form of Stakeholder Engagement with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate of PWNI, and is included in the series of HSSE PIEP activities in commemoration of the National K3 month to provide valuable input for future implementation's convenience," said Achmad Dahlan as HSSE PIEP Manager added.
