Ensuring Refinery Recovery Process Runs Well, Pertamina Directors Visit PT KPI Dumai RU

Dumai, April 4, 2023 - To ensure that the refinery recovery process runs well and smoothly, the Directors of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (PT KPI) paid a working visit to the Dumai Refinery Unit (RU) on Sunday (2/4). Among the visiting directors was the President Director of PT KPI, Taufik Aditiyawarman, and the Director of Operations of PT KPI, Didik Bahagia.

Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR of Dumai RU, Agustiawan, explained that the Directors' visit was a form of PT KPI's commitment to settling the incident occurred last Saturday (1/4).

"Apart from that, the Directors of PT KPI also want to conduct an on-site inspection. Thus, they can find facts as an evaluation material and future steps," said Agustiawan.

When asked about fuel stocks readiness during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr, the President Director of PT KPI, Taufik Aditiyawarman, revealed that his party remains committed to fulfilling the national fuel needs, especially for the Northern Sumatera region, which is the channel area for PT KPI Dumai RU.

"The Dumai refinery will continue to operate mainly to ensure that the fuel supply from Dumai RU is maintained during Ramadhan and Idul Fitri this year. People do not need to worry about fuel supplies shortage," said Taufik Aditiyawarman.

Apart from the President Director and the Director of Operations of PT KPI, also participated in the group was VP of Production Planning & Monitoring, Permono Avianto; Acting VP of Reliability, Eko Sunarno; and Corporate Secretary of PT KPI, Hermansyah Y. Nasroen.

PT KPI Dumai RU also facilitated more visits, such as the Mayor of Dumai, Paisal, SKM, MARS. The Mayor of Dumai took part in a discussion with PT KPI's Directors on Sunday (2/4) regarding the incident. After the incident, the Mayor of Dumai visited the refinery area with Dandim 0320/Dumai and community representatives to conduct an incident handling review.

The Head of the Riau Police, Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Iqbal, also visited both discussions with PT KPI Directors and visits to the refinery area. It was conveyed that his party, through the Dumai Police and the Directorate of Security for National Vital Objects, the Riau Police, had taken security measures shortly after the incident.

"The first is about security so that safe parameters are realized, and people can return to their daily activities. The two are investigating why this could have happened," said Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Iqbal.

PT KPI Dumai RU has also facilitated the supervisory team's visit from the Riau Manpower Office. The supervisory team was received by the HSSE Manager, Oky Wibisono, and the Human Capital (HC) Manager, Rizka Kurniawan, at Puskopam to convey several statements. One of the supervisory teams also visited the refinery area to inspect the incident site directly. The second visit to the Manpower Office was also conducted on Monday (3/4) yesterday, which was received by the HC Manager.

Currently, a team from the National Police Headquarters is supervising PT KPI RU Dumai to ensure that the National Vital Objects and Certain Objects Security Management System has been implemented following the regulations. The supervision team is chaired by Kombes Pol. Dede Ruhiat Djunaedi, S.I.K, M.H.

"PT KPI Dumai RU is currently focusing on the refinery unit recovery process so that operations can run optimally. The incident causes' investigation process continues in parallel. Hopefully, all the processes that go through can run effectively and efficiently, " stated Agustiawan.**
