Jakarta, October 4, 2023 – PT Pertamina (Persero) expresses its appreciation to the Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police (POLRI) for consistently uncovering and taking actions against subsidized fuel and LPG misuse.

This appreciation was conveyed by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) to the Director of Specific Criminal Offenses of Bareskrim, Brigadier General Pol. Drs. Hersadwi Rusdiyono, S.H., M.H. at the Grha Pertamina Building in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) explained that Pertamina expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the Bareskrim POLRI team for their support in the subsidized fuel and LPG distribution process by uncovering and addressing numerous irregularities in the field.

"The disclosure and actions taken against subsidized fuel and LPG misuse have successfully reduced irregularities and saved the country's finances in the form of subsidies. At the same time, we aim to ensure that all subsidized fuel and LPG are enjoyed by those who are eligible, namely the less fortunate, farmers, fishermen, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises," she said.

In the last six months, Bareskrim has successfully seized evidence, including 717,850 liters of subsidized Solar, 501,730 liters of Pertalite, and 118,504 LPG subsidized cylinders.

According to Nicke, Pertamina's collaboration with Bareskrim POLRI has been running smoothly. Pertamina hopes that this synergy will continue to be effective in addressing subsidized fuel and LPG misuse.

"We are truly grateful for all the support provided by Bareskrim. This is the work of the 24/7 task force, never-ending. Because this energy must be distributed at all times, thank you to Bareskrim for all its support, and we remain hopeful and committed to maintaining good cooperation in uncovering and subsequently enforcing the law by Bareskrim," he added.

Director of Specific Criminal Offenses of Bareskrim Brigadier General Pol. Drs. Hersadwi Rusdiyono, S.H., M.H. expressed his gratitude to Pertamina for collaborating with the Bareskrim POLRI Special Task Force. This hard work involves not only Bareskrim POLRI but also regional police departments, police resorts, and police precincts.

"This is a joint effort between Pertamina and Bareskrim POLRI and regional police departments in securing government subsidies, especially LPG and fuel. We have established a task force to enforce the law against the subsidized fuel misuse," he said.

He explained that in the last six months, there have been 406 police reports, with 338 still under investigation, and 435 individuals have been identified as suspects. For subsidized Solar, there were 218 investigation reports with 286 suspects. Pertalite had 80 police reports, and 94 individuals became suspects. Meanwhile, the LPG subsidy had 40 police reports, with 50 individuals identified as suspects.

"Whether it is for the entire Java region, Kalimantan, Sumatera, Sulawesi, or even Papua, there have been enforcement actions taken. It means that we carry out these actions in the hope that those currently engaged in these activities will not repeat them. Addressing the subsidy misuse issue is our priority, and we will continue to enforce the law. It is to ensure that subsidized fuel and LPG reach those who are eligible," he stated.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
