Surprise Inspection in Bali, President Director of Pertamina Takes Firm Action Against Delinquent LPG Stations

Denpasar, July 30, 2023 – President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, continued monitoring 3 Kg Subsidized LPG’s supply and distribution in the Bali region with a surprise inspection (sidak) to the LPG Filling Stations (SPPBE) in Pendungan, Denpasar, this Sunday afternoon (30/07). During the inspection, Nicke stated that strict measures would be taken against agents or stations selling 3 Kg Subsidized LPG not according to the rules.

Nicke emphasized that the 3 Kg Subsidized LPG stock in Bali is well-maintained, from SPPBE to agents and stations. However, the focus now is on monitoring its distribution to the public to prevent shortages.

"During the inspection, we encountered an interesting incident. When we visited a retailer, they claimed their stock was empty, but it is only 30 meters from the official station. It turns out that they did not get their stock from the official station, but there were drop-off vehicles involved. This is not following the regulations and it is something we need to keep a close eye on. If the public notices any irregularities, they can report it immediately by calling 135," said Nicke.

Moreover, Nicke explained that adhering to the proper sales process for 3 Kg Subsidized LPG according to its distribution flow will ensure that the selling price remains following the government's set price.

"Retailers are supposed to obtain their stock from the stations. The price is also clear, with regulations established in each region. In Bali, the price is set at IDR 18,000. This must be followed to guarantee supply and ensure prices follow the rules," continued Nicke.

Nicke emphasized that Pertamina will not hesitate to take action against agents and stations selling 3 Kg Subsidized LPG above the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by local governments.

"We will reduce or stop their supply. We also need the public's help in exercising control so that we can properly manage the Subsidized LPG, which is funded by the government, and ensure it is enjoyed by those who are entitled to it," explained Nicke.

Furthermore, Nicke also requested the entire community’s assistance to understand that 3 Kg Subsidized LPG is intended for less fortunate people. She also encouraged people to promptly register using their ID cards (KTP) to assist in allocation supervision, ensuring that sales do not exceed quotas and prioritizing those entitled.

"The registration rate in Bali is already at 94%, the highest among others. With this registration, we hope it will facilitate the public in purchasing the LPG and help Pertamina account for those who benefit from this Subsidized LPG," Nicke concluded.
