President Director of Pertamina: LPG Stock Supply in South Sumatra is Sufficient

Palembang, July 31, 2023 - Nicke Widyawati, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), continued her surprise inspection (spot check) of subsidized 3 Kg LPG stock supply in the South Sumatra region on Monday, July 31, 2023. From the direct monitoring with the 7th Commission of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Yulian Gunhar, Nicke conveyed that the  3 Kg Subsidized LPG in the Palembang and South Sumatra regions is sufficient.

Nicke explained that there was an ample stock supply and no queues during her visits to several distribution centers. Pertamina is always quick in responding to the demand for subsidized 3 Kg LPG supply.

"At several stations, there is an availability of goods, which are delivered daily, some even twice, depending on the demand. The main point is that the goods are always available, and there are no queues," Nicke stated.

Furthermore, Nicke explained that Pertamina's readiness to manage the subsidized 3 Kg LPG supply assurance shows good cooperation between Pertamina and all stakeholders, including the local government.

"We collaborate with the local government, starting from data collection and quota planning based on the number of underprivileged residents in that area. Meanwhile, the distribution process is also supervised by law enforcement agencies," Nicke elaborated.

In line with the statement from the Pertamina CEO, H. Rozali, the owner of an LPG station, revealed there are no queues for purchasing or distributing 3 Kg LPG in his area. When it runs out, they promptly refill the cylinders to serve customers.

"Here, Alhamdulillah (thank God), it never runs out. We do not wait for it to be empty; we refill it immediately. If we wait until it's empty, the community will surely complain, so we take care of it to ensure there are no queues at our station. The stock is sufficient," Rozali stated.

Meanwhile, Yulian Gunhar, a member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, appreciated Pertamina's swift action in addressing the subsidized 3 Kg LPG issue in the South Sumatra region, ensuring that the stock remains stable.

"Today, we accompanied the President Director in performing our supervisory function as members of the DPR related to the LPG scarcity issue. Up until now, we have visited several distribution centers. Thankfully, in South Sumatra, there is currently no scarcity of 3 Kg LPG," Yulian said.

Yulian urged the public to remain calm and not excessively hoard gas cylinders. Despite the increasing demand, the government, through Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, with Pertamina, will ensure the quota increase of subsidized 3 Kg LPG supply.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement.
