Inspection and Monitoring at 255 Points, Pertamina Ensures Subsidized LPG Supply is Sufficient

Jakarta, August 1, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero), with local governments and the police force, swiftly conducted direct observation on the Subsidized 3 Kg LPG availability through inspections and monitoring at 255 points to ensure the subsidized LPG supply in various areas is sufficient and on target.

The inspections and monitoring were carried out at all levels, including distribution points across Indonesia, ranging from North Sumatera (5 points), South Sumatera (7 points), West Java (83 points), Central Java (78 points), East Java and Bali (16 points), Kalimantan (59 points), and Sulawesi (7 points).

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN), as the Subholding Commercial & Trading Company, collaborated with relevant parties such as local governments, regional parliaments, and the police force to conduct on-site inspections and monitoring.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, explained that Pertamina proactively monitors and takes positive measures such as inspections and Market Operations whenever necessary to ensure 3 Kg LPG’s sufficient supply and targeted distribution to those in need. Pertamina's Central Monitoring also oversees Subsidized LPG distribution in various regions through the Pertamina Integrated Enterprise Data and Command Center (PIEDCC), and the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati personally visits several areas.

According to Fadjar, the inspections and market operations results have shown positive impacts. The 3 Kg LPG supply in several areas is secure and well-controlled, with no shortages or queues.

"We continue to monitor the field simultaneously in all working areas and immediately implement market operations in required areas. The results have been good, and the supply is sufficient in many areas," said Fadjar.

Pertamina also continues to educate and raise awareness among the public so that subsidized LPG is only utilized by the intended recipients, which are the less fortunate and small and micro-businesses, as designated by the government.

"For those who can afford it, we encourage them to switch to Non-Subsidized LPG. Therefore those in need can still get their right to use the subsidized LPG," added Fadjar.

Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.
